Some impressive community work taking place out in Rio, Brazil. Artists work with the local community in socially deprived areas. A great deal of it reminds me of the boldness and graphic style of Cuban revolutionary art. The scale is phenomenal. Here's a link
http://vimeo.com/15357305
to a video of a mural I completed recently in Dublin called City Links. Heineken put on a competition called Your Heineken, Your City a while back and I won the Dublin section of the competition. The video gives a background to the design that depicts my visual representation of Dublin.
Thanks to Colin in ThinkHouse PR that did a sterling job on the editing of the piece ans a big thank you to Chewy too.

Supergraphics!!? What the fook? Is this yet another designer-wanky term?
Yep, that's exactly what I thought when I heard it first.
Well, I was showing my ignorance and it has been around for quite some time, since the 60s in fact. Its definition is actually a very straight forward and simple one: very large, usually brightly colored, graphic images of simple design. Something I buzz off a great deal for my work, but never knew it actually had a name.
So how did I come across this topic? Unit Editions is how. This English production company gave a talk at Offset this year, which unfortunately I missed. Turns out thesy gave an amazing talk on Supergraphics and plugged their new book in doing so:

Judging by their previous book they brought out, I'm going to make sure I get my paws on a copy!
Finally, here's a comical link to a DIY Supergraphics kit from the 70s:
